The rock legend and poet resided there with his girlfriend, Pamela Courson, and
still maintained the apartment when he went to Paris where he reportedly died of
heart failure 4 months later while in the bathtub on July 3, 1971. It is listed as his
official residence on his death certificate.

This was Jim's private sanctuary where he wrote his poetry and played his music.
Located in the heart of the action, this Historical apartment it is within walking distance to all types of dining and shopping. You can step out to the famed Sunset Strip for the exciting
night life where you will rub shoulders with the stars. West Hollywood is wedged
between Hollywood and Beverly Hills, and only minutes to the beach communities
and airport. It is the location of choice for entertainment industry luminaries. It
takes you back to simpler times, the days of "peace and love" when Jim lived here,
with it's Old Hollywood Golden Era architecture, mixed with the long gone days of
rock 'n roll experiences..

Jim's famous last U.S. interview with Ben Fong-Torres of Rolling Stone Magazine
was conducted here and can be heard on youtube.com.
A seance with 3 world renowned psychics was held here in 2004 with Cheri Woods
which aired on nationwide TV.
Cheri Woods gave an exclusive interview to "Current Affair" regarding Jim's alleged
faked death.

In 2016 the Historic Preservation Commission voted in favor of Cultural Designation
for Cheri Amour. It is the only building in the City of West Hollywood ever to have
been voted for Cultural Designation due to its Rock 'n Roll history, rather than
based on its architecture.

It was open to the public as a widely sought after tourist attraction with the only U.S. mock "grave" for Jim in the Memorial Garden of the courtyard.
The property was sold in August 2022 so is now permanently closed off to the public.
